THE OPTIONS
- —Genuine JLR adapters: proven reliability, higher price, harder to source.
- —Quality aftermarket ENET adapters: the sensible default for owners, when sourced from a specialist.
- —Unbranded market-place cables: the false economy that costs sessions.
WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS
- —Stable chipset and shielding — dropped packets mid-flash are the real risk.
- —Correct pinout for DOIP vehicles; some 'ENET' cables are repackaged older interfaces.
- —A supplier who will replace a dead cable quickly, wherever you are.
OUR RECOMMENDATION
- —For owners doing occasional sessions: a quality aftermarket adapter.
- —For workshops: two adapters — one always spare.
- —Whatever you buy, test it before the booking, not during.
