The Automatic High Beam Assist (AHBA) automatically switches between high and low beams. It responds to real‑time road conditions and surrounding traffic. This system eliminates the need for manual dimming.
How It Works
AHBA continuously monitors ambient light levels. It also detects other vehicles' headlights and taillights. When ambient light drops below a preset threshold (e.g., at night or in tunnels), the system activates. It then engages the high beam to maximise forward visibility.
If the sensor detects an oncoming car or a preceding vehicle, AHBA instantly deactivates the high beam. This prevents blinding other drivers. Once the road is clear again, the system reactivates the high beam automatically.
Key Features & Safety
-
Reduces driver fatigue – no manual switching required.
-
Enhances road safety – uses high beam only when truly beneficial.
-
Works passively – requires no extra input from the driver.
-
Performs reliably on winding rural roads, poorly lit highways, and during sudden weather changes.
The AHBA also includes a fail‑safe logic. If dirt or heavy rain obscures the sensor, the system defaults to low‑beam mode. This avoids accidentally dazzling oncoming traffic.
The system responds in under 0.5 seconds. It detects vehicles up to 400 metres away. Whether you commute daily or travel long distances, this adaptive assistant provides peace of mind. It also offers a more comfortable night‑driving experience – you never have to think about switching beams manually.
