Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control is a smart driving aid designed for rough terrain. Once you set a desired speed, the system works to maintain it automatically. When the driving conditions become more challenging, it will intelligently slow the vehicle down. How smoothly it brakes depends on your chosen comfort setting. After navigating the obstacle, it automatically speeds back up to your original set speed.
How It Works
The system operates in two main modes to give you maximum control off‑road:
-
Descent Control Mode – helps manage your speed specifically on steep downhill sections.
-
Full Function Mode – the primary mode for general off‑road driving. It offers different comfort settings that determine how aggressively the system accelerates and brakes to maintain a smooth and controlled ride over uneven ground.
Integration with Terrain Response
This feature works seamlessly with the Terrain Response system. It automatically adjusts the vehicle’s acceleration based on the selected driving mode:
-
Grass, Gravel, Snow Mode: applies very gentle acceleration for low‑traction surfaces.
-
Comfort Mode:Â uses a more responsive acceleration rate for better performance.
