Blind Spot Monitor to Blind Spot Assist Upgrade
Upgrade your Blind Spot Monitor to Blind Spot Assist. The upgraded system will actively steer the vehicle to avoid collision. This enhancement transforms your existing warning system into an active safety feature. When you signal a lane change and the system detects a vehicle in your blind spot, it applies gentle corrective steering. This guides you back into your lane safely. The intervention is smooth and progressive. It does not feel abrupt or harsh.
Switching the System On and Off
You can adjust the settings on the touchscreen. Press this icon to access the menu. Then press this icon to enter the assistance settings. Finally, press this icon or select the option from the list to make your required adjustments.
It is important to understand how the system interacts with other features. If you switch the lane-keeping system off, the active steering function will not provide assistance. This is because the blind spot intervention relies on the lane-keeping sensors. The lane-keeping system switches on every time you start your vehicle. Therefore, you may need to disable it manually each journey if you prefer not to use it.
Indicator and Status Information
When you switch the active steering function on, a warning lamp illuminates in the exterior mirror. This confirms the system is ready to intervene. If you switch it off, the lane-keeping system remains on. In this case, the blind spot indicators remain off as well. This means you will not see the mirror warnings, and the vehicle will not provide steering assistance during lane changes.
The system is designed for motorway and dual carriageway driving. It operates above approximately 60 km/h. It is not active at low speeds or in heavy traffic. Always check your mirrors before changing lanes. The system is an aid, not a replacement for attentive driving.
